Institutional Clearances
The University’s Internal Approval Form (IAF) serves two purposes:
The IAF can be completed electronically or printed and completed by hand. When completing the form electronically, print a copy and obtain the necessary signatures. If using the printed form, type or print legibly. - It serves as documentation of administrative, budgetary, and compliance information about the proposal, and provides department chairs, center directors, and deans with a summary of this information.
- Campus signatures on the IAF authorize the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs to submit a proposal to an external sponsor.
