CITI - Renewal of Certification

Renewal of Certification:

University faculty, staff and students who have been certified as having completed human subjects protection training are required to undergo refresher training every three years.

Refresher training can be completed by selecting one of the following routes:
  1. For those who have completed the CITI Basic Course, recertification can be achieved by completing the CITI Refresher Course. 
  2. For those who have completed the NIH training three years or more prior to July 1, 2006, recertification must be accomplished by completing the CITI basic course. This is required so that future recertification can be accomplished through the CITI Resfresher course can be achieved by completing the CITI Refresher Course.     
 
Note: Researchers will take the refresher courses through CITI every three years to remain compliant.
