Electronic Research Administration (eRA@MissouriState Grant Management System)Announcing a new item

The Sponsored Programs electronic Research Administrative (eRA) Grants Management System is an upcoming web-based software tool better able to provide The electronic Research Administration (eRA@MissouriState) Grant Module System is a web-based system that seeks to provide PIs, department chairs, deans, and their designees with secure access to up-to-date funding opportunities, project proposal management, financial, and reporting information about active awards and pending proposals, and better manage sponsored programs and research proposals. By simply using your Browser, you will be able to access the grants management suite of products, anywhere and anytime.

The suite of products include;

  • Pre and Post Award services comprising Proposal Development, Proposal Tracking, Project Management
  • Compliance Systems, and
  • Technology Transfer modules
  • Funding opportunities and CV database service, SPINPlus, is also fully integrated with the administrative systems to complete the concept to closeout coverage.
  • Faculty Expertise database ( SMARTS ) Notification system for funding opportunities

These modules will be available for principal investigators and staff to work on their grant funded project administration.


Available Modules

SPINPlus:

 SPINPlus is comprised of three distinct elements:

  • SPIN (The Sponsored Programs Information Network), a funding opportunities database;
  • GENIUS (The Global Expertise Network for Industry, Universities, and Scholars), a CV / Bio-Sketch database; and
  • SMARTS (The SPIN Matching And Research Transmittal Service), an automated alerts system

Human Subjects Management:

  • Investigators can view the status of their study protocols and receive electronic correspondence
  • OSRP can manage protocols, build meeting agendas and correspond with reviewers and investigators electronically.
  • Powerful Ad Hoc Reporting tool
  • Ensure compliance training certification
  • Missouri State IRB web page

Future Modules:

 Lab Animals Development (TBA):

  • Investigators can now submit protocols electronically saving time and effort
  • Institutionally defined internal review process
  • Ability to upload virtually any type of electronic file and associate it with a particular protocol
  • Check submission status at any time
  • Occupational Care and Health to Animal Use at Missouri State (IACUC)

Lab Animals Management (TBA):

  • Allows the IACUC to be more efficient in both the management of protocols and the communication with investigators
  • Ensure compliance training certification
  • Powerful Ad Hoc Reporting tool
  • Reviewers and administrators can make context sensitive comments anywhere on a protocol
  • Monitoring of deadlines and adverse events

Human Subjects Development (TBA):

  • Investigators can submit protocols electronically saving paperwork application time and processing time
  • Ability to upload virtually any type of electronic file and associate it with a particular protocol
  • Institutionally defined internal review process
  • Check submission status at any time

For the future, two types of sessions will be offered.

  1. PI Portal Overview: This session will be used to demonstrate the basic features and navigation of the PI Grants Management Portal. It is intended for investigators for whom a brief overview will be sufficient.
  2. PI Portal Practice Lab: This session will be used to provide a demonstration of the features and navigation and is intended for college, department and sponsored project investigators. Participants will receive hands-on practice using the PI Grants Management Portal in a computer lab setting.

A list of available eRA@MissouriState training sessions will be placed on the Sponsored Research and Programs web site, under Training  > Grant Managements Management System Training.

Registration will be made available online at this site and will be required in order to attend an Overview or Practice Lab. We recommend checking this site frequently as additional sessions are scheduled each month and the system comes closer to becoming available.
