REVIEW OF RESEARCH INVOLVING HUMAN PARTICIPANTS


IRB Policy Manual Description
This manual is believed to be in full compliance with all applicable Federal and state laws and regulations. This manual supersedes all previous versions. Revisions will be issued from time to time that reflect changes in federal and state laws and regulations and changes in University procedures, which experience shows to be needed or desirable.  Comments from users of this manual are welcome and will be given full consideration in the preparation of revisions and changes in procedures for the review of research involving human participants.  Please forward your comments to the IRB Chair, care of the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP).

Pursuant to the National Research Act (P.L. 93-348§212a) and 45 CFR 46.103, Missouri State University maintains an Institutional Review Board (IRB) and has created policy to govern its actions. At Missouri State University, the IRB is charged with assuring the protection of the rights and welfare of human participants involved in research.  Therefore, the IRB is required to review all research involving human participants prior to the conducting of any research.
