Grants and Contract Negotiations

Funding agencies frequently award less than the amount originally requested in a proposal. Before the University can agree to accept a grant or contract, it may be necessary to obtain a written agreement between the University and the funding organization about changes in project commitments due to the reduced budget. Negotiations for contracts must be coordinated through the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs.

These commitments include the scope of work, expected outcomes and dedication of University resources.
