The Catalogue for Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) has redesigned their website with new tools that addresses the transparency efforts of the federal government concerning funding under the Recovery Act of 2009. Users will see new tools for finding more that 1,800 programs by number and agency that resembles FedBizOpps.gov web site.
As stated on their web site, “the primary purpose of the Catalog is to assist users in identifying programs that meet specific objectives of the potential applicant, and to obtain general information on Federal assistance programs. In addition, the intent of the Catalog is to improve coordination and communication between the Federal government and State and local governments.”
Other information provided are agency program pages, including authorizing legislation, restrictions, application and award processes, and "program accomplishments," a category that includes number of proposals submitted and awarded.
The CATALOG OF FEDERAL DOMESTIC ASSISTANCE (most often abbreviated CFDA) is a government-wide compendium of Federal programs, projects, services, and activities which provide assistance or benefits to the American public. It contains financial and non-financial assistance programs administered by departments and establishments of the Federal government.
To use the CFDA, link to the web site, Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance, and conduct searches using keywords, and CFDA program numbers.
