Missouri State University uses the Animal Care and Use training to provide a comprehensive selection of educational modules to be used to satisfy institutional instructional mandates in The Care and Use of Animals used in Research for members of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).

Overview:
In summary, as a Principal Investigator or a member of the IACUC, your official responsibilities are to ensure:

  •  Compliance with Federal & State animal welfare regulations
  •   Adherence to Missouri State's Animal Policy procedures
  •   Occupational health and safety concerns are met
  •   Proper conduct when you and your staff use animals
  •   Proper training and/or experience for you and your staff

Each of these areas will be discussed in detail in the remaining sections of the course.
