Funding Opportunities

The OSRP offers several funding databases for faculty seeking funding opportunities and grant programs.  Please contact your Sponsored Research & Programs Representative if you should need any assistance with these services.

Pivot Funding Opportunities

You can access Pivot Funding Opportunities one of two ways:   1) IP Access:  From any on-campus computer, a user can go right to http://pivot.cos.com.  Your institution’s IP addresses will be recognized by RefWorks-Pivot, so you can start searching the database right away.  2) Username and Password:  You can log into http://pivot.cos.com/ with a Pivot username and password anytime, anywhere. Logging in this way will take the user to his or her Pivot Workbench. From the Pivot Workbench, the user can search Pivot Funding Opportunities.   Username and password access is necessary when a) a user is off-campus, or b) when a user needs to save a Funding record or search.

Getting a Pivot username and password is easy:  you can go to http://pivot.cos.com/ and click the “New User? Register Free” icon near the top left of the screen. You will gain access to Pivot Funding Opps and Funding Alerts by indicating that you are a member of Missouri State University.

Within our Blog we have pages setup that include funding opportunities for the Arts, Humanities, and International Funding, Education, Economic and Community Development Funding, Health and Mental Health Funding, as well as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Funding.  The opportunities are listed in date order for your convenience and updated regularly.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is proud to be the managing partner for Grants.gov, an initiative that is having an unparalleled impact on the grant community.  Investigators can search the grants.gov database to find federal opportunities (NSF, NIH, NEH, and other federal agencies), and also sign up for e-mail notifications.  Comprehensive search mechanisms are also available.

FedBixOpps.gov is the single government point-of-entry for Federal Government procurement opportunities over $25,000, including research and development opportunities.  Government buyers are able to publicize their business opportunities by posting information directly to FedBizOpps via the Internet.

A database of funding opportunities in biomedical research and science education.  Includes information on research funding programs for graduate and medical students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty, as well as programs in science, math, engineering, and technology for undergraduate faculty and students.

Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance

The Catalog, compiled and maintained by the General Services Administration (GSA), profiles all Federal grant programs and lists specific contacts for obtaining additional information and application forms.  It also includes a helpful section on writing grant applications.

Foundation Center

An excellent source of information on private foundations, corporate grantmakers, grantmaking public charities, and community foundations.  Use of the Foundation Center does require a subscription, therefore we have a search center located in our office for convenient use.  However, if you can't make it in, you may also submit your search request via email to your SRP Representative, using this Foundation Search Form.
