The Office of Sponsored Research and Programs

The Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP), a unit within the Office of the Vice-President of Research and Economic Development cost center, exists to support the research, scholarly, and creative activities of faculty and staff.

Our mission is to increase the number and quality of grants, contracts, and technical assistance agreements; to document and celebrate the achievements of faculty and staff; and to assure that research and educational activities are conducted in compliance with governmental regulations and University policies related to grants and contract, as well as human subject protection, animal care and use, bio-safety, export control, and intellectual property.



OSRP - Vision
OSRP efforts in collaboration with faculty, students, and administrators include:

  •  Enhancing the University's research productivity;
  •  Increasing external support for research and other scholarly projects;
  •  Augmenting undergraduate and graduate student research experiences; and
  •  Celebrating the achievements of faculty and staff who are successful in acquiring grants and contracts.


OSRP - Values
A broad definition of research and creative activity that include:

  • The scholarship of discovery, the scholarship of learning, and the scholarship of engagement;
  • The pursuit of knowledge in an environment that encourages free and open inquiry, academic achievement, scholarship, and creativity;
