Office of Sponsored Research and Programs
The Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP) has established eLearning Training Resources for use by all Missouri State researchers. The purpose of providing these compliance related training is to encourage and educate all researchers on use of ethical and responsible conduct of research (RCR) that ensures the protection of human participants and animal subjects used in research.
OSRP staff offer formal and informal Proposal Development Seminars/Workshops during the academic year to assist faculty, staff, and students in developing skills needed to create competitive proposals. Upon request, seminars can be tailored for specific departments, colleges, faculty groups, or academic courses.

OSRP eLearning Portal:
The Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP) has installed an eLearning Portal that is built on an Open Source Course Learning Management System (CMS) called Moodle. The goal and desire is to place our eLearning training modules into Moodle, providing for total user access, feedback and accessibility. Grants.Gov Electronic Submission Training:
The Grants.Gov electronic submission process training uses media formats in video, audio, and print to prepare the applicant community of R01s to electronic submission . The focus of the training seeks to present an overview of the electronic submission process including an in-depth walk through the SF424 (R&R) forms and "lessons learned" tips on application submission.

Human Subjects Protection:
Training includes information regarding the design of projects, collection and analysis of data, and publication of results to assure that these projects are conducted in accordance with federal regulations and University policy. Online training also is provided for personnel to be involved in projects covered by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Animal Care and Use:
General Training – This training is required for all covered personnel. It includes an overview of the federal laws and implementing regulations, humane practices of animal care and use, and research and testing methods that minimize or eliminate the use of animals or limit animal pain or distress.

Export Controls Training:
This training gives a detailed description of the laws that potentially may affect your research work in which you are involved, the security of intellectual property and research facilities, proper application of research activities, and upholding the laws of the country as it affects export control. To remain aware of the export control laws, you will require knowledge and awareness to become informed to be fundamental concepts of the export control regulations.

Other Training:
OSRP also provides access to training required for faculty, staff and students that will be involved in projects using human subjects, animals or that involve biosafety (recombinant DNA).
