s part of a renewed focus to provide greater involvement and support from colleges, a group known as the Research Coordination and Advisory Committee (RCAC), has been created to assist and encourage faculty and staff to pursue external funding to expand the University’s research, education, and public service activities.

Statement for the Committee Responsibility (Committee Handbook):

It is the responsibility of this committee to;

  1. Encourage and assist faculty to pursue external funding to expand the University's research and service activities,
  2. Develop strategies that promote and faciltate proposal development and submission,
  3.  Assist the OSRP in informing faculty of policies and procedures related to federal regulations and other scholarly programs, and
  4. Assist the Institutional Official for Intellectual Property in stimulating efforts to develop and commercialize innovation.

 

 Acting within each college, the Research Coordinators that make up this committee will;

  1. Assist faculty and staff in developing project concepts and identifying funding sources,
  2. Support for the project management assistance to award recipients, and prioritizing of external-funded efforts.
  3. Work with other Research Coordinators to facilitate multi-college proposals, and
  4. Assist the Proposal Development Specialist in identifying high priority funding opportunities.

This Research Coordination and Advisory Committee also will have the associated responsibility of serving as the University Intellectual Property Committee with duties that are outlined in the Miisouri State University Intellectual Property Policy.

 

OSRP will provide coordination and assistance to the RCAC through the Sponsored Research and Programs Coordinator who is assigned as the primary point of contact.
