NIH AREA Program Announcement Extended:
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has confirmed that it will extend the parent R15 Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) program announcement (which expired in January) until January 8, 2010. A new R15 parent announcement will be published later this year.

Supports surveys, studies, and development of instructional materials to improve and strengthen instruction in modern foreign languages, area studies, and other international fields. FY 2009 Sponsored Funding Numbers:
Missouri State University received 196 grants in Fiscal Year 2009, which ended June 30. The grants generated $20,901,035 in additional resources for the university, according to the office of sponsored research and programs. The 196 grants represent an increase of 18 percent over last year’s awards. See details on the FY 2009 funding.
